RBCC has been officially "Open and Affirming" since 2001. We have LGBTQ+ people who are pastors, musicians, deacons and elders -- about 25% of our membership is LGBTQ+.
We are a living witness to the creativity and joy of radical welcome. We celebrate Pride with a Pridefest booth and Pride-themed worship each year.
Church members are involved in the local Fellowship of Reconciliation and Veterans for Peace chapters. We are part of regular protests against the wars in Ukraine and Gaza.
Pastor Sarah is involved in the work of Community Peacemaker Teams, a faith-rooted NGO serving in situations of oppression and violence around the world.
RBCCers have advocated for Reproductive Justice in Missouri. Pastor Sarah is helping to lead a new group of social justice oriented clergy called Como Faith in Solidarity. Two of our members are active in the Disciples of Christ Center for Indigenous Ministry. Our Church Budget includes a line item for Reparations, to support anti-racism work and indigenous communities.
