Pastor's Corner

What a blessing that our very first worship service in our new sanctuary on Feb. 12th happens to be our nineteenth annual joint worship service with Fifth St. Christian Church, our sister congregation of all these years. The relationship between these two churches in some ways incarnates much of what our new construction symbolizes: arms reaching out in welcome; a bold and unexpected statement about what shape faith can take; against-the-odds, a testament to “thinking outside the box.”

So it is fitting and right that we share the thrill of our first worship celebration in our new space with our Fifth St. sisters and brothers who have for so long walked with us on a faith journey that continues to be unpredictable, fruitful and challenging. May our future partnership be as sustaining, surprising and spirited as it has been thus far, and may our new sanctuary house many such occasions of joy, hope and faithfulness.

Maureen Dickmann, M. Div

Pastor of Rockbrige Christian Church since 1987

Maureen has served on boards of directors and as president for local Habitat for Humanity, Food Bank, and Missouri School of Religion.

She has also served on the board of Comprehensive Human Services (Women's Shelter and Youth Homes) and the Anti-Racism Pro-Reconciliation Team of Mid-America.

Maureen won the Norenberg Prize for excellence in Preaching and Worship Leadership. She has also been published in "Preaching: Word and Witness."
