SANCTUARY DEDICATION General Minister and President Sharon Watkins will be preaching as we celebrate the dedication of our new sanctuary. We expect folks from Indiana, Texas, New York and Nebraska – not to mention St. Louis and KC. Be sure to come, invite friends and – if you can – sign up to bring cookies or cake for the reception following worship that day or for the Community Open House the day before (Saturday, April 8th, from 2 to 4 pm). |

CELEBRATIONS AND PRAYER CONCERNS Robert Morrow requests prayers for his mother with health problems as does Maureen Dickmann for her cousin Kathy Maggio in Brooklyn, who is being treated for cancer . . . Barbara Allen sends word that she’s getting out and walking most days and enjoying granddaughter Amberlea as she learns to talk . . . RBCC was well represented at the big Peace Rally March 19th, with 14 in attendance . . . Ruth Carter is recovering from knee replacement surgery. If you can help with transporting children in the next few weeks, contact Roger . . . Linda Reed Brown’s mother will be undergoing gall bladder surgery soon . . . Congrats to Chellie (McClatchey) and Paul Hinshaw on the birth of Vlasta Jane, 7 lbs 12 oz on March 27th. She’s named after her paternal grandmother, the late Val Hinshaw. NEW JAZZERCISE SCHEDULE Afternoon CAMP FORMS DUE IN APRIL! Early-bird registrations for summer camps and conferences is due April 30th. If your child is planning on attending a camping event, we need to have the completed form by Sunday, April 9th. Forms are available from Ann Robinson or Letitia DenHartog. RBCC will pay up to half the cost of camp events. |
HOLY WEEK SCHEDULE April 9th, Palm Sunday Thanks to everyone who helped with the clean-up days on March 18th and April 1st! WANT A WREN HOUSE?Gene Moore, retired Disciples minister and Lenoir resident, is offering hand-made natural cedar wren houses, with a drop bottom for easy cleaning, in exchange for a donation to the PET Project (materials cost $15, so your donation should exceed that amount). Contact him directly if you’re interested. Enjoy beautiful bird song AND help a worthy cause. PET stands for Personal Energy Transportation – vehicles for those who have lost the use of their legs due to land mines, polio, amputations, etc. (over 21,000,000 people in the world!) |
