IN LOVING MEMORY

JOINT WORSHIP SERVICE WITH FIFTH ST. CHRISTIAN CHURCH

Our annual joint worship service with Fifth Street Christian Church will be at RBCC on Sunday, Feb. 12th. Rev. James Kimbro, Fifth St. CC pastor, will be preaching. The service will be followed by a carry-in dinner. RBCC will provide deep fried turkey. Please bring a side dish or dessert. We hope to have a great turn out for this special day – it will be the first worship service in our new sanctuary space. Be there!

BARBARA ALLEN FUND

Barbara flew to North Carolina on Jan. 4th on Randy Coil’s private jet (greatly easing the difficulties inherent in air travel). NE Area moderator Dennis Goodman has appealed for help with the expense. His letter states, “the cost to Barbara for this trip was in the vicinity of $5,000. As we were unable to have appropriate closure with Barbara, the Exec. Committee would like to establish a fund to help with this and other medical expenses. We are asking churches or individuals that would like to help with these expenses to give their gifts by Feb. 11th. Checks made to the Northeast Area would be appropriate. In the memo space notate ‘Barbara Allen Medical Expense Fund.’ Given in this way, individual gifts are tax deductible.”

Anyone wanting to contribute can give their checks to either Diane Haas or Kathy Brown.

CONCERT:

Concert by Christian musician Christopher Grundy will be held at First Christian church, Columbia, on Saturday, February 11 at 7 p.m. Tickets $4 (for those who can pay). His concerts are interactive and appropriate for all ages. Youth are invited to a potluck meal before the concert at Alisa and Bruce Troetschel's. For more info. or directions, contact Alisa at 234-1569.
